Description

The one thing I hope everyone takes from this picture and the poem is that all life is precious and magical. Even in the darkest depths of despair when their seems to be no love left in the world always remember someone does love you.

If you have a friend or relative who is struggling with their emotions never be afraid to listen and tell them you love them it may be the most important thing you ever do. I have in my life helped two people avoid taking their lives when they could see no other way to end the pain. I am not special in any way I just listened to them, let them know I loved them and shared their pain.

In one case I didn't see the signs and that troubled young man took his life one warm summer evening. I do not blame myself but I do look back and realize now the things I could have done. It is a time in my life I will always remember as a lost moment I will never get back no matter how hard I pray to change it.

This poem is dedicated to him and all those lost in the cold darkness of despairs tight grip.

I love you Scott and I pray that you find the peace you never had in life. I wish you could have found the strength to fight on until you found that magical moment you searched for.

"Lady of the Mist"

With broken dreams and shattered hopes I came.
Sadness led me, despair whispered in my heart.
Soft sweet words that caressed my darkened spirit,
with promises of hope if with this life I would part.

So I came to where I first felt love and tenderness,
where the fires of passion first consumed me.
Lost in those magical flames of youth's wild abandon,
blind to the reality that our love could never be.

Our love denied and my lover sent away to die,
myself promised to one of power and a cruel soul.
With all hope lost to me for happiness in this life
I come back in search for the magic they stole.

As I stand upon the edge and my heart beats wildly
a soft summer breeze comes to caresses my face.
With its touch I think of how he made me feel,
how he set my soul free to soar in this magical place.

I closed my eyes and leaned into the wind's sweet caress,
lost in memories of our love hoping for a brighter tomorrow.
Then from the misty falls there arose a soft singing voice,
a tender song in ancient verse filled with deep sorrow.

She floated up from the mist like an angel of the night,
a sparkling fell behind her like a trail of lover's tears.
She sang her song for me and filled me with such peace
my spirit filled so with wonder that I forgot my fears.

She sang to me of her magical realm beyond the veil,
where I would be safe and free to let my soul soar.
She took my hand and we danced on the misty air,
despair’s voice now fading in the misty falls roar.

I came seeking release from the sorrows of life,
instead I found that even in darkness there can be light.
That hope can be found even in the depths of anguish,
that every precious life is a magic shining bright.

I tried to achieve something more from this piece and I am pleased with the way it turned out. The Lady of the Mist is a nature spirit or if you want you may consider her one of the fair folk of legend. She started as an angel but I decided to make her this way instead simply because I felt she fit better as a Fae spirit in my mind.

I hope you like it and please give me any ideas for what I could do better or different. I am truly grateful for all the support I have received here and could never thank all of you enough. If you read the poem please also let me know what you really think of it or anything else I have written for my works. I can only learn from mistakes and having them pointed out to me by you. Thank you all once again and I look forward to hearing from you.
