Captain Osorio stood proudly at the bow, his mind dreaming of the glory and riches he would receive for ridding the seas of the Pirate scourge Lafleur. Six long years he had hunted him and tonight the hunt would end.

Osorio had tortured an old pirate for days until he finally broke and gave him the location of Lafleurs safe harbor. Now his moment was at hand. His crew had been magnificent at following his orders, even though he could see the terror in their faces. Running full sail within two hundred feet of the cliffs on a dark cloudy night was madness. But to catch a madman one must sometimes abandon sanity.

When the mouth of the cove appeared he screamed the order to turn. The great ship groaned at the stress of turning so hard at such speed. Just then the clouds parted and the full moon shined its light down upon him. He felt as though the Lord himself had taken time to watch his moment in history.

In the next moment his mind went numb with fear. Before him now bathed in the moons light was a shallow reef stretching across the cove. There was nowhere to turn noway to stop before his ship was torn apart. He recovered just enough to start screaming orders but his voice was stolen by what he saw next. There on the far side of the cove appeared a great beast. It exploded through the surface and looked directly at him.

In his search for fame and riches he had condemned himself and his fine crew. Now the words the old pirate said just before he he died came back to haunt him.
"There is no glory in the belly of the beast."

Thank you I tried my best. If I hadn't found the brushes it would have been a long time before I had enough experience to achieve anything close to this. Thank you for looking and glad you like it.
