Her Night to Dance

There is a mist in the hollow
and a blue moon in the sky
as from somewhere in the darkness
comes a lonesome whippoorwill's cry.

If you stay quietly to the shadows
you just might perchance
see the white lady of weeping hollow
on this her night to dance.

I do love a good ghost story and there are so many versions of the classic Lady in White tale. This is just a modest attempt to portray one of my own visions of the tale. I do hope you enjoy it.
